Are your ER services open 24/7?
Yes—Priority ER Care in Odessa is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in?
No appointment is necessary—walk in anytime. You can also book online to minimize wait times.
What should I bring to my visit?
A photo ID, your insurance information or payment method, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical history.
How long is the typical wait to see a physician?
Most patients are evaluated by a board-certified emergency physician within 10 minutes of arrival.
Will I be treated by a physician or a physician assistant?
You will always be seen by a board-certified emergency medicine physician.
Do you accept my insurance? What if I’m uninsured?
We bill most major insurance plans. Uninsured patients may use our self-pay option with transparent, upfront pricing.
What is a freestanding emergency room?
It’s an independent ER facility that provides the same emergency services and diagnostics as a hospital ER, without inpatient admission.
How does ER care differ from urgent care?
ERs handle life-threatening and severe emergencies 24/7 with physician coverage; urgent care treats non-emergent issues during limited hours.
What qualifies as a medical emergency?
Any condition that a reasonable person believes could cause serious harm if not treated immediately.
Why should I book an appointment in advance?
Advance booking reserves your spot, minimizes wait times, pre-verifies insurance, and lets our team prepare for your arrival.
What if I need overnight observation or hospital admission?
We provide observation and stabilization; if admission is required, we coordinate a seamless transfer to the hospital of your choice.
How can I get lab tests, and how quickly are results available?
Our on-site CLIA-certified lab and point-of-care tests operate 24/7. STAT labs (e.g., troponin, CBC) are often ready within 30–60 minutes.
What on-site imaging services are available, and do I need an appointment?
We offer CT, X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, and more—emergency imaging requires no appointment; non-urgent scans can be scheduled in advance.
Which traumatic injuries do you treat? Will you stitch wounds or apply splints?
We manage lacerations, fractures, dislocations, and other injuries—performing sutures, wound debridement, splinting, and temporary stabilization.
Do you provide dental emergency management?
We stabilize dental emergencies—abscess drainage, temporary splinting of displaced teeth, and soft-tissue repair—and refer you to a dentist for definitive care. We do not extract teeth or perform root canals on-site.
Do you treat pediatric emergencies? Are child life specialists available?
Yes—we have pediatric-trained physicians and nurses, child life services for distraction and comfort, and age-appropriate sedation when needed.
Do you handle cardiac emergencies? Will you perform catheterizations?
We stabilize all cardiac emergencies using ACLS protocols and rapid imaging, then arrange transfer for catheterization or surgical intervention at partnering cardiology centers.
For fractures and dislocations, will you set bones or reduce joints?
We perform closed reductions, apply splints or temporary casts, and coordinate follow-up with orthopedic specialists for definitive fixation.
How will follow-up care and specialist referrals be coordinated?
You’ll receive clear discharge instructions, prescriptions, and direct referrals to the appropriate specialists or outpatient clinics.
